This model is meant to be used in calmer waters.
Touring kayaks, on the other hand, are actually built to be a little sturdier. Because of this reinforced design, they are more suited for those adrenaline junkies out there who want to tackle rougher waters. They also have an expanded storage area that would typically allow the kayaker to bring, at least, one or two day's worth of supplies.
